Default Sad news Carnival Kid has passed

Here is a message posted by FredA101 in the The Marketplace where CK had his under-hood tool kits for sale.

Hello All,

I recently reached out to Carnival KId about obtaining one of these toolkits and was saddened to learn from his wife Polly that he passed away February 4th, 2022. I have expressed condolences to her on behalf of everyone here and she asked me to let everyone know. I know he was a great asset and resource to the Jaguar Forums community and new owners like me, and will be missed by all.

RIP CK, you were a valued member and will be missed.

Rest In Peace Carnival Kid! Your knowledge and willingness to help others will be missed.

This should also be in the memorial section.

I’m sorry to hear this. I bought one of the kits from him 2-3 years ago and liked it a lot. My sympathies to his family and those who knew him.

Thanks for sharing this sad news. I've learned so much from this list in general and from Carnival Kid in particular. His willingness to share his knowledge with those of us less-well educated in the ways of Jaguar was a great service to our community. He will be sorely missed. Condolences to his family,

Wow, that comes as a shock, a real shock this morning...
Did not know him that well, but we shared the same opinions on our Jaguars, and his red Vanden Plas was gorgeous .
Always liked and appreciated his input and opinions.
Rest In Peace, Carnival Kid!

Glen was a great guy willing to help whenever he could. We had a little system set up where'd he'd send me something for my car & I would send him some vintage Jag memorabilia usually showcasing a carnival red X308 like his very own IE postcards, pamphlets etc. He thoroughly enjoyed that, RIP sir.

Sorry to hear. He was quite the proverbial fountain of knowledge when it came to Jaguars and appeared to be enjoying sharing his knowledge. He helped me several times with advise.

RIP

Carnival Kid
December 8th 1951 - February 4th 2022

Carnival Kid from Palo Cedro in California joined the forum on January 15th 2018, listing his interests as cars and motorcycles. This soon became apparent with his informed and helpful posts in X308 forum and his fine example of a 2001 XJ8 VdP in of course, gleaming Carnival Red.

He repaired all the regular issues on the XJ8 and was generous in sharing his knowledge with other members. A post count of 1841 made him a regular contributor, a great asset to our community and one who will be greatly missed.

I add my condolences to his wife Polly on her loss.

Graham

I'm shocked to hear about Glen, we PM'd each other quite a bit, both living in California and both British, I PM'd him at Christmas but got no reply. He had mentioned he was recovering from prostate surgery in October, my last message from him was in November. A wealth of information, always finding out new knowledge of these old Jags.
