The hard line from the slave to the rubber line looks to be 3/16. What is the size fitting that goes into the slave cylinder? I removed the line and fitting from my old engine and for whatever reason it will not screw into my new slave cylinder.
I believe that you will find that the hard line shaped end is slightly oversize on the diameter. The outer circumference of the end just needs a few thou trimming off so that it will enter the cylinder female thread, the threaded union will then follow afterwards. This pipe end oversizing will not allow the first thread of the union to enter the female thread.
The oversizing on the hard pipe end occurs when the pipe end has been formed with more pipe material in the nipple end than is required.
