Don I don't think there is any need for a comment like that and even more so from a Moderator. I think you need some instruction in what a Moderator is suppose to do and how to act. I think another Moderator needs to step in here and sort this out and quickly before you lose someone with the expansive knowledge that Glyn has got and offers to this forum. His photo collection alone is one of the biggest assets this part of the forum has. (A picture paints a thousand words.). Think again on your comment and I would suggest after you remove it that you apologies.

Glyn,
I commend you for editing your earlier posts to remove some of your rude and condescending comments.
Perhaps you would care to also revise these incongruous statements; the second undermines your credibility as an authority on the first:
Be advised that I and other moderators have heard privately from members who do not appreciate your treatment of others over the years. Your status at any other forum is meaningless here. The condition of your car and any awards it has received are irrelevant in this thread. You future here depends entirely on your willingness to edit your posts before you post them, not after you have offended others. The first words that come to your mind may not be the most effective means of sharing your knowledge and opinions while being a constructive member of the Jaguar Forums community.
Consider yourself on probation.

What is the difference between the comment you have just made and the examples you quote as having been made by Glyn. Are you going to put me on probation for saying I don't like Modified classic Jaguars. That seems to have offended some people a couple of times. Glyn has said nothing I disagree with but he has come close to the mark as have others on this forum including yourself when answering. Others on the forum have been very forceful in their comments on certain subjects.
American cars are like Barges and have been since time began. Remember when the Mk2 Jaguar, Ford Cortina and Mini cooper S used to race against the Ford Galaxy in the 1960s. Mk2 Cortina and Mini used to beat it hands down in the corners only for it to speed by down the straight in a straight line.
If you do not like what someone says walk on by as they say. If you want an argument then read on, get hot under the collar, make your own inappropriate comment but don't worry because the other person can also just walk on by. Lets not get too PC here, these are just words. We are not sat outside your house waiting for you to leave for work with a baseball bat.
You most certainly may say it ~ I lived in your wonderful country (Wollstonecraft Bay) ~ Sydney for a long time when we were expanding our Asian operations and our Technical Centre for the Region was in Sydney.

To place full context to my statement that others refuse to.
Quote:
"Different countries have different preferences. Americans have always liked over compliant, dangerous barges that go like hell in a straight line but are terrified of corners & cause terror in corners.
Different strokes for different folks. South Africa is like Europe. Hard hugging seats, firm suspensions and outstanding handling in the twisties & tyre & braking department."

Glyn,
I had hoped to avoid having to make yet another off-topic post in this thread out of respect to the OP, who must by now be bewildered by the sheer volume of your self-aggrandizing off-topic nonsense.
Your use of two sweeping generalizations based on stereotypes, becuase you didn't think one was sufficient to make your point, is not an effective defense of your claims that you respect cultural diversity. It just makes you twice as culturaly insensitive and twice as wrong:
I have now heard privately from other members who feel that you have been and continue to be a destructive presence at the Jaguar Forums. I suggest you spend the next month or year at your other forum or I will make that decision for you.

Please explain why you are taking this action.
Even the rules of this forum have not been broken by Glyn. Taken direct from the New Members page rules.
- Foul, abusive, or racist language is not tolerated, also the use of the word Steal ership is not acceptable and may well result in an infraction.
- Opinions of members: We are all entitled to our opinions, but please do not use this forum as a base to abuse other members or companies either in person or about their product or services. Anything considered unsuitable, or anything that could place this site and its owner (INTERNET BRANDS) in an inappropriate situation will be moderated or removed.
I laughed out-loud at this...
How is this offensive ?
"Americans have always liked over compliant, dangerous barges that go like hell in a straight line but are terrified of corners & cause terror in corners"...

For the record, members who have contacted me privately have told me that they have stopped posting, or avoided posting in this forum because of past bullying by Glyn and certain other members. Also for the record, in this thread Glyn posted condescending, rude and insulting remarks that he later edited when challenged by others. Glyn has previously received a temporary ban for unacceptable behavior and I and the other moderators will continue to monitor his posts.
I am closing this thread since the OP is obviously not going to receive any more constructive help, which he should have been able to expect from this group. One of the recurring complaints about Glyn is that he tends to take over threads and turn them into discussions about himself. He certainly achieved that objective here.
Something I have always admired about the Jaguar online community is the generosity of veterans who kindly and patiently share their knowledge with others who are just beginning their Jaguar ownership journey. I hope you will all keep in mind that at some point, you were a newbie too.
