Default Brake Servo - which one?

problem
My 66 s type seems to have a early brake servo fitted c19612 but the chassis number 1B2852 indicates that it should be the later unit c24707
where can I get one of these - I have tried the main suppliers
SNG DMG SC parts but no one has one in stock - but which one to use????
I have been told its a type 8 ??

Dave,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler 1955 - 1967 forum. Definitely one for members with specialist knowledge of this model.

Also expanded the title to draw attention to it.

For an original replacement we are only able to recondition old units which we would be happy to do! Alternatively you may be interested in this Lockheed replacement: (see link)

Brake Servo - Aftermarket

This is available across all of our four branches..

Hi Guys
I think I have located a recon unit available - its definately a later servo from the engine number and I have taken the old one off and checked.
thanks

As an alternative if originality isn't an issue you can buy an LE10117 servo (3:1 Ratio), David Manners in Oldbury sell these for around £110.

To: SNG Barrat, what is the price to rebuild these brake servos / boosters? I have 3 that I want to rebuild. Thanks.

Default s-type restoration

Hi Guys
Thanks for the input regarding the brake servo.
With such a comprehensive restoration I have tried to avoid compromises but I think its a trade off.
Originality against improvement.
Some of the new brake servo units are much better and give an improved braking system. I have the later servo fitted to my car and I have found a direct replacement which means that theres no modifications needed to the car. The later servo is an improved unit and should give adequate braking. I'm pleased that I dont need to modify the car. I have also taken out all the bits of wire that previous people have used to try and solve electrical problems.
Wiring is now fully working and original - This might sound a bit **** but the various bits of wire strewn around were not needed and looked terrible.
