grille > no

wiper motor > maybe

have you compared the wiper motors visually?

otherwise only the front suspension, engine, and transmission are the same or compatible between both models.

the S type has the rear IRS suspension of the E type, the MK-2 does not.
the S type has a twin exhaust system, the MK-2 does not.
the S type has twin fuel tanks and twin fuel pumps, the MK-2 does not.

Agree with Jose here, but the wiper motor is likely to be OK as it will be the usual Lucas item. In fact I am sure it was fitted to all the 60s Jaguar saloons.

yes, you are correct, however I have seen a different wiper "case" in some MK-2, MK-X, 420, and 420-G, though the cabled-system appeared to be the same.

The beauty of the S type's wiper motor is that it has a thumb knob that lets you fine-tune where the wipers Park. I wish my XJ-6 had that feature.

I can't remember the year, but some time in the late 60s or early 70s the motor changed over to permanent magnets, Motors with this are very easy to spot, as the motor body is circular unlike the rectangular bodies of the excited field motors.

probably with the Series 1 XJ of 1968 ? those are the worst wiper motors Jaguar ever came up with, from 1967 all the way to 1992 in the Series 3 XJ V12.
