I am in the process of restoring my 1967 Mk2/340 made in early 1967.
The whole body outside and in has been stripped of paint and is in primer at the moment.
Although I am not aiming for a JCNA concours car, it will be done to a very high standard (think Glasurit) and it will have some of my own personal preferences installed.
I would like to solicit the group's wisdom on the finish related to the inner surfaces of the engine compartment and the underside of the hood. I believe that undercoating painted in body color was applied and I would like to reproduce this effect. The body shop does not like to use rubberized coating since it never really dries and he is thinking of a modern type abrasion resistant finish such as is used on the exterior lower panels of modern cars.
Your comments will be welcome, particularly as to what products are available in the US.
If you can get uPol Raptor in the US it is great, will give you the texture, and you can actually get it tintable, so you can colour it to suit, or overpaint.
Changing the gun pressure changes the texture, with 2 mins trial, it's easy to apply, and is hard as nails, as it is designed for truck bed lining.
