Default Engine Identification

Morning all,
As you know I recently aquired a Mk II 3,8 and the history is interesting - Zurich spec with auto in 62, somehow ended up in the Pacific Coast with a Manual 4 speed + Overdrive along the way.

Build plate says engine is LC3631-8

Actual engine (well the lower half in it is stamped RA1613-9 when I google the engine number all i see is a bunch of arizona state laws and docs... anyone know who i can turn to for information?

All I actually know is it was mid performance upgrade - the pistons are bigger than standard

RA is the prefix of a 3.8L E-Type engine.
