Fan and panel light switches
Neither the fan switch nor panel light switch works in the second position (fully up) on my Jaguar Mk 2. Is this resistor problems and, if so, where are the resistors?
Thanks, Ian

As Jose said, this is likely from lack of use. It's a combination of contamination on the contacts and grease that has probably turned to rubber, preventing the contacts from closing. The resistors are a factor in the middle position for both the heater blower and dash lights. Full up position bypasses the resistors and sends full current to the motor/lights. The dash light resistors are mounted to the switch itself. The blower motor resistor is mounted to the motor.
You could also check the wiring to make sure the connectors are in place but I (also) suspect gunkie switches.

Thanks for the helpful advice. I think the problem with the two switches is different. Fan switch works in both positions, but fan speed is the same on both. Panel light switch only works in second position, so could be gunkie contact or wiring connection. I will investigate further. Cheers
Fan switch was incorrectly wired. Now working correctly. Panel light switch still a problem. On closer look (with switch panel hinged open), panel edge lights work in both switch positions, but instrument lights only work in first position. Not sure if they are dim or bright in that position, but definitely fully off in second position.
