Default Horn ring cover emblem

Here's a wild odd one folks. I managed to source an early horn ring cover and a badge(red small circa 1") that was 10 yrs ago or so, part no 8095. Getting towards the end of the build . Offered up the badge to the cover and.......... bingo there appears to be a chrome/bright ring missing around the badge. can't write what I said**************.
Well as far as I can see neither the badge or the early style cover is available........... Or does someone out there know where I can get the bright ring around the badge or if it comes as part of a abadge a replacement badge.
If any one has any suggestion I would be very grateful indeed.
Have you a spare or knows a man that does etc
Just in case , for your info. The early cover is a push fit from the front, but not as wide as the later. The later, correct me if I am wrong fixes with small bolts from the underside of the wheel and has a large black gold 'Growler' I guess at 2-3".
As a matter of fact I have a later s/wheel with cover, but no badge, as well That I assume is a mk2 ( Maybe I am wrong, but some one out there will know).!!!!!

a picture would be nice, I've never seen the red-badged horn-push, they've always been black and gold.

Not a great photo. Or horn cover, but I think this is what you're describing. 1961 MK2 3.8

Got my badge, it's the same as I have in my possession. You can just see from the pic,. by Joe, that there is a bright coloured/ shiny ring around the outside of the badge. Its that that I seem to be missing. There is a recess around the outside of the badge. That may accomadate a ring.
Joe is the ring, part of the badge or part of the horn ring cover?

Barry,
I had to re-affix my clips using Q-Bond and I'm not anxious to pull the cover off again. It snapped on nice and tight. And, for some reason, did not take photos when I did it.
As I remember, the horn cover has slits. The plastic medallion is fitted to the chrome ring which has tabs that fit through the slits and twist to retain medallion and ring to the cover. They are obviously made of different material, so they were separate at some point. The parts manual illustration seems to show the ring and medallion as one part and the cover as one part. There seems to be a ridge around the medallion (representing the chrome bezel?) and some tabs (which would not be made of plastic).
We are sorely in need of experts in the Mk2 department who can answer simple questions like this. I'm surprised the vendors don't jump in here with an answer and a photo.
Joe

Part number 8095/1. Currently in stock in the UK branch. The red insert emblem we use to mate with this is the same as a series 1 motif bar badge.

I would go to the next SWAP meet or keep searching on eBay.

That part does show up, but usually not on its own. Still, a medallion and ring or a whole assembly Used may less than the ring alone New. And if nothing, you have a source for a new one. Maybe there's something else for the car you'll get at a terrific bargain.

Hi Joe, yes I have already pit out a few feelers to a couple of parties, but being an early model and a '\perishable/fragile' part I dont hold out much hope.
