Default Hoses

Hi all,
Please could somebody post some pictures of the water hoses and where they go? Top hose and bottom hose are obvious but there's another hose below the top hose (I cant see where he goes!) Also cant make out where the heater hoses go! I'm guessing the vacuum hose from the servo goes to the threaded bush to the rear of the inlet manifold? (1962 MK2 3.8)
Thanks in advance

Heater hoses (rubber jumpers to steel) to back of inlet manifold & under carbs to water pump. Steel pipes back of inlet manifold & under carbs across scuttle to heater matrix/radiator via heater valve.

Radiator hoses obviously thermostat housing top. Bottom to water pump.

Vacuum hose top of inlet manifold (air side) to reservoir.

Cheers Glyn, What about the outlet on the inner manifold below the top hose?

Show me a pic of where you mean. Use MS Paint or whatever.

Are you talking about the thermostat bypass port hose to water pump?

Feeds this slit:

The main pipe goes from the top of the radiator to the other/outer side of the thermostat. You have some bypass of coolant until the thermostat opens and you get full flow. A shrouded thermostat should be used so when it opens it closes the bypass slot/port and 100% of coolant goes through the radiator,

For the B type head this is the correct thermostat.

Please understand that there are 2 pipes. The main radiator pipe & the bypass pipe. See here. Main radiator top tank pipe goes to the thermostat outer housing. Smaller diameter pipe goes to the water pump.

There should also be a nipple on the back of the waterpump, that has a short section that joins a steel pipe that runs under the intake manifold and has another rubber hose joining the steel lines that run around the back of the engine to the heater core. The other end of the heater circuit is the nipple at the rear of the intake manifold.

From your photo, a metal pipe with a barb end screws into the port with the red arrow, this is for manifold vacuum and goes to the brake booster. The purple arrow is for the heater circuit, the other end of the heater goes to the nipple on the back of the waterpump.

As shown loose in the waterpump picture. You get one with the pump.

It all makes sense now! I will be fitting pancake filters so I wont be using the pipe on top of the manifold I will be fitting a breather of sorts on the gizmo at the front of the head what do you reckon?
Cheers

Non captive breathers are illegal in most countries today but who's going to notice. Just fit a little washable filter or some sort or catch tank on the breather output.

Do not block the breather.
