MK 2 fuel pump issue?
I have a MK2 3.4 with a replacement fuel pump from Barret . The car has been sitting for a few years but it runs, it ran fine before being put into storage. The issue I have is that fuel keeps pouring out the overflow tube and the fuel pump keeps pumping. Any idea what the issue could be,thanks.
I think I found the problem. The float on the side chamber that the overflow tube connects to was stuck. The rear carburator. Soaking the parts overnight and will reassemble tomorrow.
The good, I got the carb fuel bowls back together and that issue of fuel pouring out is now corrected. The fuel pump in performing correctly and shutting off now too. The not so good, now the car won't turn over. I do need to order some new seals as a few of them are in need of replacement and I have some smaller leaks.
Hi
I had to look in here since fuel issues are in my future. Im not really looking forward to it as there is so little room. You must have a lot of patience. Or maybe small hands and tiny wrenches? Anyway good for you on doing the job yourself. Good luck with starting.
