Some good news… a deal is done and the jag engine and gearbox are mine, just got to go fetch one weekend.

im very much looking forward getting this old car back into roadworthiness condition.

still a ways to go, still need cooling components etc, but this is a huge step closer.

If that's the motor and trans from Portland, you got a great deal. Don't remove yours the way they did

with a saw? No I intend to be gentler… plan is to keep my block and transplant the bits I need, cleaning and painting as I go.

2653 mile round trip, 41 hours and 12 min of driving, 2 x 6 hours of sleeping, meals on the hoof.

Small hint regarding the water rail on top of the intake manifold. Do not try and remove the brass fitting on the end. It will snap off the end of the rail. I found out the hard way. Got a good used rail from a Jag restorer who said he never tries to remove them and just cleans them up instead.

Looks like a great trip. Portland is one of my favorite cities. Especially love the Spanish Coffees!!!

Thank you for the tip.

1st job is to photo everything then start taking parts off - cleaning and polishing.

I wasnt in Portland long enough, dropped off my trade and loaded the motor and gearbox and on the road again in 46 minutes flat!
