Default Paint code

Hi from down under,
My 1964 Daimler sedan paint color is Old English White. Can any forum member tell me the factory paint code for this color.
Thank you.

It seems like different paint manufacturers supplied the paint and they used different codes. PPG/Ditzler Paint show two different codes for Old English White (JAGUAR/DAIMLER PAINT CODES FOR PPG/DITZLER PAINTS).

I took the codes and one of the spats off the MK2 and took them into my local Autobarn. They were able to provide a perfect match and gave me a print out of the formula in case I ever need more paint.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Stu

Default paint code.

Hi Stu,
Thanks for the reply. Was your car Old English White? If so what was the paint code. I had some paint mixed by my local Autobarn and put in a spray can but the end result was too white not all like my car.
Regards,
DB. Noosaville.

Hi David,

Yes, my car is Old English White, but it wasn't always. One of the previous owners changed the colour from Mist Grey.

I've attached the tinting formula from Autobarn that matches my car. Not saying it is going to match yours.

That's why I suggested taking off one of the spats and taking it into the shop. There are different formulas for OEW.

Cheers,

Stu

Default paint code

Hi Stu,
Thanks for the very prompt reply. You say you took a wheel spat to get the paint matched. Did they use a formula to mix the paint then checked it against your sample or did they eye match the paint. I used to own an Autobarn franchise so am familiar with the process.
Regards,
David Bruce.

I gave them the PPG/Ditzler paint codes (8233 and 8894). They mixed a little bit of one and it didn't match. The second one matched exactly. They didn't put it in a spray can until they had a match.
