Recommended garages for recommissioning/servicing MkII
Hi,
Having recently inherited a 1961 MkII 3.8l manual Jag, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations on garages with good know how for recommissioning/servicing and maybe a few minor upgrades. It already had a new manual gearbox 15 years ago. No interior work other than refitting sagging lining in the ceiling. I'm looking at Vicarage, West Riding, P&K Thornton and Dunchurch, but it seems some are focussed on higher end full restorations and presumably pricier whereas what I'm considering is a less invasive job - at least at this stage. I'm based near Watford, but will need to transport the car anyways. It has hardly been driven in the last 5 years.
Thanks and regards

The two people that I know and feel good about recommending are Ken Jenkins in Worksop and David Marks in Nottingham. They are both very competent and I'd say fair value for the quality they deliver. Depending on what's involved, you may have to wait a while before they can start. You can find more info and phone numbers for them by Googling their name and Jaguar. I'd suggest you phone rather than e-mail as they have lots of work and don't spend money on secretaries. If they cannot help you, they will give good advice on other companies and how to do things yourself.
