Default Removing the steering wheel on 3.8S Type

Hello all. Quick question. I want to remove the steering wheel. When I remove the horn cover I see that the horn ring seems to be attached by three little nylon nuts and there are three holes that give access to three screews. To remove the horn ring and get at the steering wheel nuts do I need to remove the 3 tiny nylon nuts and remove the horn ring or do I just remove the three screws that are accessed through the three holes and remove th horn ring that way.
It seems to be considered such a simply job that there are no photos and no detailed instructions, or, at least, the instructions are ambiguous enough for me not to be able to identify which I shoud undo.

Don't touch the nylon nuts, you don't too and they are very fragile.
Remove the three recessed cheese head screws.
That removes the horn ring.

Get ready to catch the washers and lock washers .
On mine there was washers and lock washers.

Does your steering wheel have a locking ring that turns so it can be moved in or out to suit, if so, you can remove the locking mechanism for that, and it will slide right out on the splines ?

However if the wheel actually needs to be centered to achieve front tracking, the above procedure won't allow the wheel to be centered.

Thanks Jeff. I need to actually re-position the steering wheel so that it is centered. I have put a new PAS system on and there have been a few adjustments to be done.
Cheers

I kind of thought it would be that, but I still posted the other option.
