Late last year I got my hands on a 1963 3.8L Mark2. It has been sitting outside for some time and was half dismantled. I always wanted to restore a classic car so when the opportunity presented itself I decided to go ahead with it.
Over the next few months (and probably years) I will try and post updates and pictures of this epic project. I am blessed with limited knowledge about cars, let alone restoring one, so I will need all the help I can get.
Feel free to provide suggestions, ideas and direction!
Attached are a few pictures of when I got the car.
Cheers
Vincent
The car had been outside for a few years.
Half of the engine is missing so it wasn't driving.
That seems to have potential! It's looking lovely in your garage. A pre 87 XJ6 motor would handily solve your engine issues. Interior may be more difficult.
Can't wait to see more pics. Which reminds me, you stated you've not done this before....Take millions of pics of EVERYTHING and label them well. The memory tricks us after a year or so. Same for any parts removed, bag them, tag them and organize them. Including any screws nuts or bolts.
Just last weekend I spent hours finding an appropriate foam and cutting new taillight gaskets only to come across the proper ones an hour later while gathering bits for the next lights.
Be sure to get your hands on one of our free parts catalogues if you haven't already! And if you need any parts advice or prices please do not hesitate to contact us.

Vincent, there are plenty of good parts suppliers in Australia and good to deal with.
Bag,tag and label everything, I do. It makes re assembly so much easier as doe's photos of every step, even of things before you remove or dismantle them.
