Default Steel wheel colour

Good morning. We are on our first Daimler 250 v8 adventure and are the proud owners of a 1965 car in Sherwood Green. Her steel wheels and the spare are a different, darker green.
Would they originally have matched the body colour?
Thanks

Short answer Yes they should match the body work colour. My S Type was originally Warwick grey and the steel wheels matched and then when I did the colour change during the restoration I painted them Old English White same as the body colour. Now converted to wire wheels so no long have the steels.

i can't comment on the originality of it, but...the steel wheels on my '67 mk2 are a darker color than the body and probably the best looking part of the car. the body is honey beige and the wheels are a light copper color with chrome beauty rings.here's an example of what i'm talking about:

Rimbellishers and a long string of items were an optional extra in most markets as were Fograngers. They were standard in some markets like SA.

The Daimler had a split bench front seat.

The options available on your Daimler V8 were.
