Since it's not my $ and you're only asking for opinions, I say buy it quick before it gets away!

Compared to this MK II ad you're doing pretty well. BTW, can anyone tell us which is worth more, the 3.8L or the 3.4L?

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum. Let us know how it turns out...don't be one post wonder! If you do get it, post up more pictures.

I've noticed the ad for this MKII is still posted on Minneapolis CL.
Did you decide against it? Anyone else looking into it?

Am I missing something?
All I see is the photo, no price, no closeups, nothing.
RHD?
LHD?
2.4, 3.4, or 3.8L?

I have had my 2.4L 1964 RHD MK2 for a bit over a year, drive it almost every day, love it.
Cost me almost as much to get it "up to snuff" as it did to purchase it, but it's little things like steering column bushings, steering shaft rzeppa joint nylon *****, seals, correct crbs, coil mount, missing heater controls and radio panel, m/cyl, booster, I did all the wood.
Yet it came as a straight, virtually rust-free car that ran, so I ain't complaining.

I have a model of one in black just like it on my table. Would love to have a real one. Where can we see the ad? Just out of curiosity. Not trying to grab your car. How much is it. There´s one in the San Diego area in red for $3k but doesn´t look too good in the pictures and there´s no info in the ad. Of course in auto trader classics there are some in perfect shape for like $50,000. I´m not in that league.

I just used the craigslist search tempest to find it. Here's a copy of the ad...no price, or other info, but I thought it was listed earlier for $6000(?).

1963 BLACK JAGUAR MKII FOR SALE BY OWNER.
Good - Driving Condition, Mechanical. Completely Redone Interior. Good Exterior. No Under-Carriage Rust (A little rust underneath door).
Owned By Seller Since 1984. Garaged. Driven almost every year.
Best Offer...(But Not Desperate to Sell!)

Hmmm. Didn't know CL was Craig's List.

The only 1963 Jaguar MK2 on Craigs List is Long Branch, white, stuck flaot, needs paint and interior of 10K.

An old Jag will take some work, but if it's solid, the effort is worth it.

$6K if solid isn't too bad.

Looked and looked, never did find it.

BUT, I did find a couple more.
An earlier one, not running, on a trailer, Jaguar MKII 1961 $4500 OBO (Temecula/Wildomar).
Photos show a shick in the console, but the ad (and feedback from the shop) says it's an automatic.
MK2 autos were column shift, the console had no hole for a shifter, so not sure what is the deal there.
Then, I found one in Mass, no engine or trans, ready for a conversion $500.

Jaguar MKII 1961 $4500 OBO (Temecula/Wildomar)

$500 more for a nice one.
Tell me that's an automatic in the second lisitng.
What, WHAT is that yaller thing on the column?

Can't be ignition, that's in the center dash.
Overdrive is a lever, and it ain't yellow!

Might also consider a 420 (not the G). Better steering, brakes, ride etc.. and you can buy a nice one for over half the cost of a similar Mk2.

About like someone who wants to buy a 1940 Ford Tudar, and is encouraged to find a 1990 Crown Victoria.

If the guy wants a MK2, help him find a MK2.

Having driven old Fords all my life, I find I like the lines of a MK2.
Based on that, I think I would even like a MK1 better, but, hey, I drive what I got!

Here's a 63 MK II Lump:

http://www.autotraderclassics.com/fi...sationId=65199

It's got a Chevy V8 small block. Interior is on the rough side. Could be a project for Moronthethrottle. I could see him and his son fixing this up and then go trolling for rice-burners

Boy, the interior is ROUGH!
Rust?
You see the rust deposits from the bottom of the doors on the sill plate?

Frame is in good condition? Where is the frame on a unibody?

Cosmetics, easy, headlight ring, one mirror head.

Heck, I may have a spare 3/4 race 50 Merc flattie I could drop in there.....
