1985 XJ12
Greetings. I'm the very happy (third) owner of an '85 series III XJ12. Yes, the one that wasn't sold in the States. The original owner, a Texan, just had to have the V12, and so he imported this one from Belgium and had it federalized at enormous expense. He, and the subsequent owner, took very good care of the vehicle. It's been repainted in the original color once, and has had all the woods, leathers and vinyls inside replaced with original parts. I bought it on eBay (I'm not joking) about three years ago; it replaced my 1975 Triumph TR6.
It is my daily driver (except in the Wintertime), and while not without the occasional minor repair need, it is incredibly reliable. One day I hope to learn the secret behind getting the radio antenna to go up and down all the way every time!
It is an attention magnet, particularly (but not exclusively) to guys about my age.
I'm delighted to find this forum; a terrific resource for these gorgeous cars.
