Default 1988 Jaquar xj-s floods out?

I recently acquired a 1988 xj-s the car was sitting in a field and hadnt been ran in at least a few years. When i start the car it runs for a minute or two but runs rough like its really rich but soon after it dies like its flooded out. Ive had this car for around 6 months or so and the whole time ive been working on it trying to get it to run right. Please help me this car is driving me nuts and draining all my money. Thank you Mike

Welcome to the forum.

More info will be needed about the car if you want some useful help.

What work has been done so far, what issues have you run into, the more info you can provide the better the responses will be.

Have you done any work on the fuel system? Ie, filter, tank cleaning, fuel pump testing?

Fill us in please.
