Welcome to the Forums.

The answers will be in the XJ40 Tech Section, just down the home page a tad.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Bruce,

Good to have you with us.

Could be a failed crankshaft position sensor but it's a few years since I had an XJ40 and members in the XJ40 forum will have better knowledge.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the XJ40 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Australia - New South Wales Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...-wales-act-93/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Bruce,
I'm sorry your cat has decided to go on strike. But doubtless our Xj40 section will be able to help you out.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
