Default 1993 jaguar xj6 (The knocking continues) Help

Hello,
I am new to the forum but a frequent visitor. I have a 1993 jaguar xj6 in pretty much mint condition with only 88k I have recently done a lot of maintenance to it my self. From front to back as follows new cooling fan regulator, and module, new belts, new front shocks, bushings, and breaks. New rear struts, and bushings. New spring top plate, and new sub-frame bushings. I initially started with the rear struts thinking the loud knocking sound coming from the rear of the car on drivers side. (sounds like right above strut in trunk) would go away.
The noise continues even after all of the repairs. I have checked the a-frame bushings and they appear to be fine. There is a control arm im guessing that goes from rear end to the body aprox 12in long with bushings on each end that appear to be weak but i can not figure out what they are called to look up the part or bushings. Any info on this part or the problem that might be making the noise would be great. Thanks Scott

It's nice to hear about an XJ40 receiving such loving care. Sounds like a great car, and I'm sure you'll eventually get to the bottom of your noise.

See you around!

Welcome to the forum Scott,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar Forums and to hear you've already found useful information here.

The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of the XJ40 tech section https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ck-links-5911/ is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you. I hope i will as well. Yes I do love the car and it has been good to me. I just replaced the valve cover gasket in hopes to stop some of the oil leak problems this make has also.
