Default 2001 xk8

I have an 2001 XK8 that has a blown engine. The top radiator hose popped off and the rest is history. The dealer wants about 14 grand to fix it. I think I will have to do it my self. This looks like the place to be.

Hi, welcome!

You'll get very good advice and technical info here from very basic DIYers to factory trained Jaguar techs...and in between.

Best,

Default Thanks to all

Thanks to all. I have to get it home from the dealer this week. I work a lot of hours so it will take me a weekend or three to get it done. I think I'm going to buy a rebuilt motor. (I don't know how hot it got, my 19 year old son was driving it)

Welcome Pirate, sad about your engine, depends on how long he continued with no top hose or coolant. But I would guess pretty hot, for it to go in the first place.

Good luck with the rebuild/replacement.

I will try and do some documentation and some photos. It will be in the fall before I start most likely. Hot here in Georgia now.
