2004 X-Type starter trouble
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and trying to figure out how everything here works.
Here is my issue:
2004 X-Type 3.0AWD (auto trans) 60k miles. Car was running fine, stopped to fill up with gas and when I went to start it all i heard was 'click'.
I ask a guy for a jump but no change and still same issue. Checked battery and it show 12.5v. Lights, Radio, A/C fans all work fine.
Had the car towed home. The tow truck driver said it sounded like a starter issue, he even tried giving it a few taps thinking that might get it going, but no luck.
I went ahead and replaced the starter, but still having same issue. I can hear a 'click' (starter solenoid im thinking?).
Can anyone give me some help/suggestions?

Welcome and greetings from down under.
As Grant has said, this area is more about offering an intro, and getting you started on navigating around. Suggest you navigate to User CP on the main menu bar, click on Edit Signature and enter year, model, engine of your beastie as in your intro post - that way, it's in all future posts to ensure advice given is relevant and accurate. Pics of your Jag are always welcome - you can add these via Manage Attachments in the area below the box for your typed posts. Finally, if the mood takes you, fly back to User CP and Edit Avatar to include a mini-pic or logo next to your member name in each post - just like the many you will see included by other members.
Finally, if you haven't found it yet, there is a forum dedicated to your X-Type . . . and it is there that the gurus live who can best help with your tech issues. Next advice is to read (and download, as required) from the Sticky "HOW TO . . . " all the manuals, TSBs, wiring diagrams etc for your model. Then, with a chunk of background research under your belt . . . ask away.
Above all, dive in and enjoy!
Cheers,

Ken

Welcome to the forum OneEyedJag,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
