2006 S-Type, Cannot retract rear caliper pistons
Folks,
I'm new and did not think I would need your help so soon. I am doing a simple brake job on the rear axle. I've read other posts on this forum, purchased new pads and rotors (they were too thin to be re-surfaced), I held the parking brake button down as I turned off the engine and removed the key. So, I have a double-pinned tool and as I turn the caliper pistons to the right, counterclockwise, nothing happens; driver's side or passenger side. If I turn the piston slightly to the left, they do start to back out, extend. What gives? Do I have the parking brake still on? I've tried applying some pressure against the pistons as I turn them, nothing, nada. The driver's side piston rotates but is much stiffer than the right.

Oops!
Please excuse my lack of proper protocol I am still learning how to post to this fine forum., this is the first forum I've ever joined. I am an old dog yet capable of learning new tricks. So I will re-post this in the S-Types forum.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Welcome to the forum Charlie,
Good to have you here with us at Jaguar Forums.
I can see you are already getting help with the rear brakes in S-Type tech section so no need for a link from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
