Default 2012 XKR-R

Just joined the forum after purchasing a 2012 XKR-S. After two AMG Mercedes, I decided it was time for a change. Initial impressions are that the Jag feels more sporting and lighter than the AMG's, but rides harder. Car is Italian racing red and is growing on me
My car needs new brakes which will be fitted this weekend, bought Meyle Profesional rotors and EBC red stuff pads all round. Jaguar pads are too difficult to modulate. A good four wheel alignment and new tires to bring it back to like new. I must say, the Pirelli P Zero tires must be the absolute worse tire ever made in the modern era. It is incredible they are still sold. No grip what so ever, yes it is cold here, below 45f but still, the performance is no better than Chinese tires. Absolutely shockingly bad. Can't wait to dump them.
Hopefully the start of a long ownership. Strangely, I went to school in Whitley Coventry were the car was made. I could see the plant from the playing field !

Thanks all for the welcomes. My plan with the car is to get it stopping and driving perfectly first, catch up with any maintainable and then I will look at some performance engine mods. On the AMGs, intake air temperature was always an issue with increased boost levels. The Jags charge cooler and intercooler is a definite improvement from the AMG's system. We shall see how that goes. There is a surprising lack of tech data and how to's on the forum. Hopefully I can add a few in the coming months.
