Default 2013 XF- Rear brake sensor replaced, but did not installed

Hello, my name is Tamika, I live in Las Vegas and own a 2013 Jaguar XF 3.0. In March 2017, my brake light came on, I took my car to the Jaguar dealership. The rear brake sensor was identified and replaced. On 04/20, a truck dodged in front of me on the Freeway, causing me to immediately brake and my car’s reaction was slow. Although, I avoided the accident, it was a concern. But, I had no warning lights or anything. On 4/24, I heard a grinding sound when I stopped at a light, still no warning lights. Yesterday, I took my car to the Imports auto shop that had done prior repairs for me, he replaced was advised rear brakes and rotors. He advised me that although the brake sensor was on the rear tire, it had not been installed, thus preventing me from getting a warning alert when the pads were low. This was a dangerous error! Has anyone experienced anything similar at a Jaguar Dealership?

Welcome to the forum Tamika,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You must have been doing a lot of serious heavy braking to wear out a set of pads between annual services?

Welcome.

Not a good thing, but, down here, there are mechanics, and "mechanics". and dealer or no dealer, seems to have little variation.

If you are comfortable with the guys who sorted it, stick with them.
