I'm new to posting. I have a 1999 Jaguar XJ8 with a 4.0L and I have a problem with the locking system. The button on the dash above the radio does not work properly. I can lock the doors however it won't unlock the doors. Thanks for any help I can get.

Presumably this is an issue with the Central Locking button on the far left and not the Valet button?



If so, do the doors unlock when you pull the interior handle?

I'm sorry about your locking/unlocking problem.
I had that problem once, but on a Jag more than 20 years older than yours, so my fix wouldn't work for you.
Doubtless other owners with similar cars will be able to help.

Thanks for getting back to me appreciate it. Yes the doors unlock with the handle.

 

Could just be a fault with the switch. If the doors didn't open with the handle, then it would likely be a body control module fault.
