About me and the cats...
Bew here but not new to late model Jaguars. I am on my 3rd and 4th right now.
It all started back before I was born Mom had an XK150 FHC and later when I was 2 the parents got a series 1.5 XKE 2+2. I have been lucky enough to buy new Jaguars and take the sizeable depreciation hits, but I think I have purchased my last new one and will be looking for resales form here on out.
1999 XK8 Conv. Sapphire over Ivory
2001 XJR Sapphire over Oatmeal
2006 XKR Conv. Quartz over Dove
2006 X-type Sportwagon (Estate) Winter Gold over Tan
Not much luck with the sapphire cars, quality wise but the 06s are awesome.
I have heard a lot about this forum but now understand that in order to keep spammers away from this site I need to post before reaping any real benefits. I hope I do not come off as spamming myself.

Welcome Marc, you are obviously a fan of Jaguars. Nice intro. You can still reap pretty much all the Tech and Off topic benefits right out of the box. As you evidently appreciate and as is common with other forums certain Access for New members had to be limited in the continued fight against 'Spam'.
Don't worry, make a few posts and the probationary period will soon pass.
Good to see you,

Thank you for that! It is truly appreciated.
Now with your help I am able to gain access to a wiring schematic that was posted which will hopefully allow me to connect a voltage sensing auxiliary audio switcher into the proprietary Ai Network allowing iPod or Sattelite radio connection to factory audio systems. I will post my findings, good or bad, as soon as I have time to tear the interior apart again!
I am also working on some other mods that I will be posting soon!
Thanks again and cheers!

XJR - X-type
You would think the XJR would have been top notch, especially at the level of development of the 2001 MY (even with the 4.0). However after 4 sunroof mechanisms, 4 CD changers, wood replacement for all interior trim and a bad differential, all before 16,000 miles coupled with the issues we had on our XK8 we were done and took a brief sabbatical from Jaguar Cars. We were put into a LR Disco II and believe it or not that truck was trouble free.
We bought the X-type brand new with 21 miles on it and it has been an awesome car, handles great, and in my opinion it looks great (especially the sportwagon version). I had noticed it on the lot during two separate regular service appointments 5 mos. apart so I knew there had to be something up with it. Well it had the optional sat nav and rear park assist which are nice but it did not have a premium package: no memory, no dimming mirrors, manual passenger seat, etc... Strange options but the price was so good we couldn't pass it up, I think a new loaded Honda Accord was the same price. Absolutely no issues until recently @ 62K it needed a new water pump, Ford part installed by a reputable mechanic all for under $ 225.00. You have to love that.
However truth be told, it is my goal to get my hands on a 2008 Super V8 sometime in 2012. I just love the looks and style of that car as an ultimate luxury saloon without getting into Bentley money.
