ABS Fault Message
Hi everyone - Fairly new here. Purchased a lovely S.Type with 103K. Diesel Auto and good service history. Gave 2.9k so understand costs - however all new discs and new tyres - with new MOT, no advisories. Using this as a second car. Today had message ABS fault but no light on - and message did not come on again on next start up. Battery seems good - but have not used car for nearly a week and its been raining like mad here. So - anyone have any thoughts - and is it worth me buying one of these handheld gizmos that tells me about fault codes - if so, how much should I pay (e.bay ?). Its a lovely unmarked car - I am quite happy that it may cost a couple of bob and we have an independent Jag specialist in Milton Keynes if need be. Hopefully some of you lovely people can give me your thoughts...……………...

Welcome to the forums Roger,
Good to have you with us.
The ABS message is likely to be a combination of slightly undercharged battery and heavy load with wipers and lights on. If you want to read only basic powertrain codes, TorquePro is a cheap and effective solution.
I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Welcome to the Forums.
A battery minder/tender is the ONLY way to keep the Gremlins out. All mine have on attached. Batteries are at 100%.
Good luck.
