Thumbs up Accidental Visitor

Hello and thanks for the opportunity to join this Forum.
I join in the hope that I can source some reliable information regarding early Jag IRS.
I own several early IRS's and would like to mount at least one out of the cage in a non Jaguar vehicle.
I found this Forum after searching for answers to one particular question which I will post in the appropriate section later.

Russ.

Welcome to the Forums.

"Early" is selective.

The inboard IRS started in the 60's, with the likes of the E, S, MK10, etc etc..

Then the Series cars carried it onward with alterations to brakes, seal sizes, etc, depending on year.

The XJS also carried that same design, although in 1985 only??, that model did use a Dana centre (no drain plug).

Ratio changes is a given, based on the original car fitment.

The various Tech Sections down the home page a tad will have specifics for the units in those models.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forum Russ,

It was very nearly a short membership. I've removed three postings of your IRS question leaving the ones in
XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III and E Type forums. Do NOT multiple post the same question across forums.

The point of the
New Member Area - Intro a MUST is to give the opportunity to tell us something about yourself and your vehicles. You have done neither.

I was going to say thanks for the warm welcome.
It seems we have gotten off on the wrong foot already.
I posted what I own and that is several Jag IRS's.
I don't own any Jaguar cars and have joined this Forum to seek information as I'd like to put at least one in a non Jaguar vehicle.
Given that I am interested enough to be on here raises the possibility that I could find a good deal in a Jaguar that gets me to the next step of ownership.

Next time I'll be more specific, but as I own an XKE and S Type plus XJ6 rear end I figured I'd just post the request for each specific model.
Not thinking it was going to cause a problem since you have specific sections.
I also figure that being new it was a way to make more contacts with folks early rather than sifting thru your technical section as recommended which again gains me no contact with other members.

Sincere apologies for my misgiving and I hope to stay within your rules in future...

Multiple posting across forums usually results in the same set of members seeing the same post over and over again. This is a regular cause for complaint from the membership. Other than this "annoyance" factor, it then means the posts are either ignored completely or replies can be split across separate threads.

I left two of your posts in XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III and E Type forums because this is the most likely to get the answer you need.
