Ahoy hoy!
Hey, everyone. I'm Jason and I just picked up a 97 VDP about a month ago for a whopping $1800. It has 279k miles on it but still runs really smooth. I've wanted one for years and from what I have found out this is a good year to get, so I jumped on it. I look forward to talking with all of you about my plans and ideas for it. Obviously with how much I payed for it, I will have no problem putting a few dollars into it and will probably have many questions along the way.
Welcome to this friendly Forum, Jason.
That's certainly some mileage.
I see you've already found the XJ section.
There's a Regional one too

Welcome to the forum Jason,
You'll soon have spent more on fuel than the VDP purchase price!
Having had both models, I'd agree a high miles late X300 is a better prospect than a high miles early X308.
Enjoy the VDP and the forum.

Thanks for the welcome. As for the mileage, I'm not too worried. The Toyota truck I just got rid of only got 24 hwy and 17 city and my VDP so far gets 24 hwy and 15 city, so its about the same mileage, but in my opinion, a lot better performance/luxury/interior space. Plus the obvious coolness factor and...well...its a Jaguar.

Welcome Jason!
Just passed through your neck of the woods for Christmas Vacation! Had a great drive out hwy38 to Reedsport and down 101 to NorCal. I will have to get down there and explore more of those wonderful Oregon roads this summer!
I know you will find lots of good folk here to help you enjoy your new sweetheart even more...
Cheers!

Thank you all. I've already learned a great deal from this site and thank you for upgrading me to full access. Having an $1800 VDP, I know I will put the forum to great use. Oregon does have great roads. My personal favorite is hwy101. Being originally from Idaho, I take a particular interest in the oceanic views. Plus throwing my various vehicles into the corners can be enjoyable as well.
Your also only 5 hours (or less) from the holy grail of twisties in NorCal (Hwy 36, Red Bluff to Fortuna). If you do a Cal run in summer, it is a road not to be missed!
Sorry..... mention "corners", and I get excited...
Peace!
Vince
That's alright with me. Another one of my favorite vehicles is the good ol' Mazda RX-7. Had 3 of them. nice cornering machines and I put V-8's in two of them. Then I had a sportbike...
