I'm normally on the modern forums (98 XJR), but recently picked up a 73 XJ6. I came across it while visiting friends in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I used to have a 71, but sold it and I've regretted doing that. Needless to say, I'll be around this forum, too. The car needs a lot of work, but it's rust free, all there, and it runs. So, I want to thank everybody for sharing their thoughts and their knowledge with us "Newbies". Patience too !

Jim

Hello Jim,

Not so much a 'Newbie' after 10 months and 127 posts! No need for any links from me as I'm sure you know your way around here by now.

I had a couple of Series I's and also liked them very much. Unfortunately the combination of rain and road salt in the UK gave them serious rust issues and it's rare to find one over here now that either hasn't had or needs considerable bodywork repairs. As yours is rust free, it sounds a good project to take on.

Graham

The photos are way better than real life, in reality it is a 5 metre "walk by veiwing" car.
Rust has just started poking its ugly head through in a few spots this year. And yesterday it was parked outside at work and we had between 150 and 200 mm of rain and the water has found it's way under the clear coat in a few spots. It feels like gel packs in some places.

I did need a project for this year to stop me painting the house.
