Another 2001 3.2L X308 from Germany
Dear all,
I've used this forum many times to learn more about the 2001 X308 3.2L I'm driving on a daily basis in Germany.
I'm not a mechanic but found some joy working on the car in my spare time, so recently I started doing some repairs/service on my own and based on the many great instructions here in the forums it was successful so far.
In the future I'd love to contribute with some HOWTOs and also post some questions about replacement parts.
So far this is what I did with my 2001 X308:
- Oil change
- Air filter change
- Spark plug change
- Differential oil change (without cutting a hole into the trunk
)
- Coolant drain
- Replacement of windscreen wiper fluid reservoir
- Power steering fluid replacement
(- shock absorber bearing replacement done by the proper mechanics)
In the next weeks I'm planning to do the following:
- Transmission oil + filter change
- Brake fluid replacement (with vacuum bleeding tool)
So thanks for providing this forum and I'm looking forward to contributing more.
Best,
bf

Hello, bf,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar! And, on all your successful repairs to this point!
You will find, the more you work on your Jaguar, the more the car will appreciate the attention and the better it will behave for you.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums bf,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
