hi jagsters

recently purchased a 2002 Jag X Type 2.5 SE auto.

found out how to replace the cassette head unit with a cd unit. thanks for the helpful threads.

no it seems a bit rediculous really. cassettes went out of fashion years ago. still i can now listen to decent sound now thru the 6 alpine speakers.

Welcome aboard! The only benefit of the tape deck feature these days is it made using an iPod or other mp3 type device easier by using a cassette adapter. Believe it or not, the cassette feature was an "upgrade" option for the factory radio.
