Default Another UK Newbie says hello

Hi from the South East of the UK,

I have finally decided to buy my 1st Jaguar...'X' type 2.5 SE V6. I would have liked the 3.0 Sport but simply couldn't find one in absolutely pristine condition with Sat Nav option. I settled for the 2.5 SE V6 with Sat Nav.

If you are in the UK and want a good Jaguar then message me and I'll give you the details of the garage where I bought mine from. I have been lucky enough to find a really superb 12 year old car with just 59,000 mls.

My wife and I have owned lots of classic, sporty and luxury cars over the years including various Mercs, a couple of Scimitars. My newly aquired 'X' type is better in lots of ways to anything else I've previously own.

I guess that makes me a convert?

I have a single question for those of you 'in the know' - so to speak.

To make my wife feel a little more at ease when she reversing the car, I said I would add a reversing camera. Not to mention it will help me too.
The cars Sat Nav is a Denso unit. Is it possible to link any kind of miniature camera (wireless type) to the existing Sat Nav DVD unit and display the camera image on the existing screen?

Looking forward to using the site...thanks'.

Welcome to this friendly and helpful forum from a UK expat.
I'm sure you will enjoy your Jaguar. For help on your query navigate to the correct sub-forum which (I think!) is X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
Be sure to put all your car's details in your signature for the best possible help.

Welcome to the forum dagwood,

I've moved your post to the Intro section where everyone looks for newbies.

Follow Steve's link to post your tech question in the X-Type section. If there's a way of interfacing a camera, I'm sure the resident experts there will be able to advise.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Graham
