Smile Newbie from Cyprus

Hello from a very warm Qatar,

I am a new member, living in Cyprus but on assignment in Qatar for a while. I guess I have always been a bit of a petrolhead since I started driving at the age of 15 in UK. My list of memorable cars over the years includes a Triumph TR3, Triumph TR6, Triumph Spitfire, Fiat 600 Arbath, Alfa Romeo Guiletta, Alfa Romeo GTV, Marcos 1600, 4 MGB's, Transam firebird 6.6, Jaguar Mk 2 2.4, Porsche 911 and a Delorean. I shipped my S-Type from UK 6 years ago and she is still in immaculate condition at around 75,000 miles. When I am away, she gets wrapped up and protected from the Cyprus sun. When I am home and using the car, the rules are simple - no other driver, no kids, no dogs and no food. It's the only way to preserve it. My wife's Mazda takes care of all those.

In 6 years, my only problem until last week was the throttle body, which had to be replaced at enormous cost - otherwise trouble free motoring at an av mpg of 26/27 to the uk gallon. My present problem is the driver's side electric window that died a horrible crunching death and I shall have to get a replacement winder from Ebay.uk and fit it myself.

I shall look forward to reading some of the other threads.

Welcome to the forum Archangel,

Good to have you with us.
The window repair is pretty easy, so you shouldn't have a problem.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum,

Great Intro.

That's a superb range of past vehicles and the current S-Type sounds to be pampered.

Hope the window repair is as simple as Norri predicts.

Graham
