Default Audio problems with 2010 XJ

Hi

I'm new to the group as I've just purchased a 2010 Jaguar XJ 5.0V8.

The car is awesome but there's are problems connecting my iphone and playing audio. When playing music the car decides that it will stop outputting the sound but you can still see on the screen the music is playing.

I could only rectify this (I think) by switching off the Bluetooth on my phone.

I have since then decided to use a USB stick which is a better solution but can't use Spotify etc.

Another very annoying issue is that from nowhere the volume will increase and decrease. The volume can go very loud. This is intermittent.

I have B&W 1200W sound system and read that there are microphones or a microphone detecting sound levels and then adjusting the volume.

Just wondering if this is correct and if there's a fix for any of the above.
