Smile Bought my first jaguar

Hi Guys
I've been a fairly long term browser on here, my father has had jaguars (and therefore issues that need fixing) for about 20 years ... an S-type 3.0 V6, an S-type R and currently has a (fairly rare, I understand) XF SV8.

I've finally got in on the act and bought myself an old (1996) Xk8 4.0... its only seen 63,000 miles: British racing green, 18" alloys, beige roof and Ivoy Leather with the recaro seats... I've never seen one quite like it... I'm lead to believe the biege roof is pretty scarce?

I bought it back in Feb and suffice to say I've now experienced Jaguar ownership - it basically fell apart! I'll detail my adventures in a new post soon...

Welcome to the forum floz,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Most UK original buyers seemed to have chosen the black soft top so beige isn't a common sight.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome Floz,
Lots of us experienced the Joy and sorrows of owning an early XK8. You will find lots of helpful advice and support on the XK8/XKR section of the forum. I've never seen a BRG over Ivory 8. Post some pictures when you have a chance.

Check the manufacturer sticker on the passenger door pillar:

Bought my first jaguar-manufacturer-sticker.jpg

The 3-letter Paint and Trim codes give the exact colours. In this example JJZ is the code for Frost Blue paint on my 2005 XK8 and NED is Ivory trim.

Post your Paint code back here for a decode of the colour.

Now you know why most hoods in the UK are black!

However, I think the tan goes well with the green paint.

Interesting, here across the pond I only ever saw tan roofs with the green XK8. Agree with Graham that the tan looks nicer but I'm biased. We'll congrats! She's gorgeous ant the interiors looks to be in great condition.
