I just bought this 2000 XK8 a few days ago - she is pretty sweet with less than 60K miles. She's had 3 owners and appears to have been garage kept and well cared for. One accident in the car fax - only the front fascia and hood have been repainted - so hopefully it was minor. No details or service records because I bought it from a used car dealer, so it was a leap of faith. I previously had a 2002 XJ8, so I have a decent idea of what it takes to keep one of these fine automobiles on the road. This one has a few needs; suspension bushings (natch), windows go down when the doors open but only occasionally go back up when they close, and there is no HVAC flow down at the foot setting (I recall extracting a bunch of loose foam from the XJ8 ducts to fix that). And needs the timing chain tensioners done soon....
This forum is great and helped with the pre-purchase research. I will start a thread to document progress on the issues and eventually some tasteful mods.
