Canadian hello!
Hey Jag lovers, and a quick apology for posting a thread already without properly introducing myself.
Name's Trevor, I'm 21, I live in the greater Vancouver area and I do NOT yet own a Jaguar. I drive a Pontiac Grand Am at the end of its life (300,000 km- well over how far GM wanted me to drive) and I hate it. I am incredibly picky when it comes to cars.
Since I was a kid, I always looked at those sexy, long bodied cars with the hood ornaments and thought "darn, I need to GET me one of those". I always turn my head at a classic Jag. They just draw me in.
There was a catch however when I decided I would ****** one up for my first car; that is the reliability and to some extent, the interior of the series III and XJ40s. It would have cost a fortune to restore, far more than I could afford what with paying my own rent and University tuition. So I waited.
Along comes the X300 series, with proven reliability, the classy-yet-not-overdone interior that I crave, and that classic Jaguar appeal. Needless to say I am hopeful and hooked. I plan to buy one in the next month and I could NOT be more excited!
Just a little bit of history of my fascination with these gorgeous cars... Who doesn't love a Jag?
Thanks for reading and I hope to get to know you all as well!
Cheers,
Trevor

Welcome to the forum Trevor,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The X300 is a good choice. Similar appearance to the later X308 but none of the issues of the early V8 engines. I purchased an X300 approaching 100k miles and put another 62k on it with nothing more than routine maintenance.
I can see you've already found your way to the X300 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Trevor,
I don't think it's *Required* to actually OWN a Jaguar to be a member of this site, although, obviously that's preferred. It sounds like you've settled on your Jag-of-the-future though so we'll let you in anyway. LOL
All kidding aside, Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome everyone!! Never had that from a forum before.
I'm proud to be a part of everything here, and hopefully it won't be too long until I get my Jag. I'm really, really excited. You know you want a car when everyone at the workplace is talking about the new Nissan GTR, Corvette, Lamborghini that they want and I pipe up "yeah... I like the 1995-97 XJ6s."
You all are a good humored bunch with a solid head on all your shoulders from what I've seen so far. I await the day I can provide help instead of asking for it!
Thanks again, you're all awesome!
