Hello, I'm the new "kid" on the block! A proud new owner of a 1999 XJ8 VP with 105,000 miles. This is my first Jag although I've been a fan since the mid 70's. My father had a mid 70's XJ 12L that I fell in love with. Sadly he had a penchant for only hanging onto cars for 2 to 3 years. The Jag was replaced with a 1978 Porsche 911 SC Targa. I live in southeastern Washington State where we have very unpredictable and often harsh winters. I plan on only driving this for about 9 months a year. This car is in excellent condition cosmetically with only a few minor problems. As far as mechanically, no warning lights, drives super quiet and smooth. It does have an underperforming heater/defrost and I will replace brake pads next spring. I will have it gone through mechanically next spring as well. (I've been reading on the forums of all the things I should be checking/replacing). Any recommendations are appreciated!

Hello,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
105000 miles is just now in its Prime! Well broken in and loosened up, if it had any serious problems they would have been fixed by now or the car junked.
