Well, after 2 months of reading the forums for potential problems and weak points and doing the typical internet browsing for hours on end, I finally pulled the trigger. Last weekend I bought and picked up my new (to me) 2000 XK8, a beautiful dark blue convertible with oatmeal interior. I live in Chicago and the car came from Indianapolis. I had the pleasure of a 4 hour drive to bring the car home. Although the driver was a bit apprehensive, the Jag preformed flawlessly. I couldn’t be happier. I know that in the future, I will be looking for answers or asking for help as problems come up. This forum seems to be an unbelievable information source for the XK8. The post in here helped me decided that Jaguar ownership was worth the trouble and I wouldn’t be left at the mercy of the dealers.

Welcome to the forum Glenn. Great intro, glad your return trip went well. At times, I'm afraid to take my xj8 beyond the city limits, but, I guess that's my problem. I've always done my own vehicle work, and the Jag can be intimidating at times. As you've noted, this forum is a great place to gain and share knowledge. It's the only way I've been able to hang onto mine. Enjoy your new ride.
