Default The dream came true - finally bought a Jag

Hi all,

I've always wanted to drive a Jag, and today the dream came true - I brought home a 2004 x-type 2.5, in British Racing green. Everybody says I'm nuts to be buying an eight year-old car for which parts can be expensive, but it was a calculated risk that I'm excited to have taken.

The thing looks great in my garage. I've already been exposed to the "quirkiness" of these cars - there's a bizarre buzzing sound coming from behind the dash when the ignition is off. From perusing this site, I'm now fairly confident that it's common, nothing to worry about and won't drain my battery. I'll let you know in the morning if everybody was right. :-)

Nice to meet you all!

Neil in Montreal.

Welcome Neil,

Congratulations on the dream realised.

Parts costs aren't unreasonable but labour costs can soon ramp up. As Translator advises go and meet your new best friends, the 'quirkiness-fixers' on the X-Type section.
