Default Family owned S-Type - Lots of work ahead

Greetings from Portugal to all users.

That cliché day where the elderly family member that has an interesting car gathering dust in a dark garage corner finally submits to the requests and passes it on to you finally came.

I've spent the last two weeks doing thorough research on the vehicle (this forum has been really helpful on that regard) and now it's time to get my hands dirty. Unfortunately, the vehicle has some issues and a particular one that I've been unable to identify the origin. Adding to that, I do not have a service history for the car for the past 10 years. Nothing better than to try and solve it with the people that know Jaguars inside and out right?

I wish to do my best and keep it in the family for decades to come and as such I am looking for the next few months filled with repairs, maintenance work and the works.

Here it is after being properly washed for the first time in a long time.

Happy to finally be joining all of you!

Regards.

Welcome to the forums The_Portugese,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you have already found the relevant model forum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
You are going to have SO much fun making this car right. Just SO much fun.
You'll learn things about the car (and yourself) you had no idea could be the case.
I wish you success!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
