Finally Posting My Intro
Hello to All,
I signed up on this site a while ago, but didn't write anything, although I did participate in a few discussions. So, thought that I would list my Jaguar experience.
I currently own a 20002 XJR-100. This is my third Jag; the first one was an 88 XJ6 (XJ40), and the second was a 98 XJR (X308). The 100 is, in my opinion, the best automobile that Jaguar made. I haven't driven any of the new models with the 5.0L engine, so my opinion is limited to the pre - 5.0. Anyway, the 100 has a unique combination of style, luxury, handling, and speed. I get a lot of compliments.
I'm a hot-rodder at heart; just can't seem to leave things as is when there is so much after-market, performance enhancing parts out there. So far, I have installed a cold air intake, oversized intercooler radiator, oversized lower pulley, rebuilt supercharger (SC) that was ported and polished, ported and polished SC top, and stainless steel rear silincers. My ultimate goal is to have the heads ported and polished, hedders and high-flow cats, a KenneBell SC, and a posi diffential. However, the car has 140k+ miles on it, so the engine work will have to wait till rebuild time. The car still runs great as is.
For general maintenance, I have replaced the timing chains, done the brakes a few times, and all of the other periodic things that come along. I prefer to do the work myself so that I know that the job is done properly, and have acquired several of the Jaguar specialty tools.
OK, that's my intro ...
