Default First Jag ever!

I came across a deal I couldn't refuse. I bought a 91 XJ-6 for next to nothing. It has electrical problems, but I have never been this happy with a car and my 6 year old son loves it and wants it when he is old enough to drive. I look forward to learning from the group, because, frankly I know nothing about Jaguars, but am looking forward to knowing more. I have owned German cars, Italian cars and even a Russian car. My XJ has a little over 225k on her, but from my understanding this is actually not a lot of miles for a Jag. My biggest problem so far has been finding parts.

As I mentioned, she has electrical problems. My first big surprise was the fact that there are 3 fuse blocks. in my first few weeks of ownership, I have successfully gotten rid of all but 5 of the dash lights. (All of them were on when I got the car!)

Anyways, I look forward to learning from and sharing with the group.

Welcome karlws:

Great to see an XJ40 in the hands of somebody who will appreciate it! Yeah, you'll love this car. Fun, cheap, classy… Actually, once you learn the ropes, you'll easily find parts a dime a dozen. Begin with the Forum vendors/sponsors. Then ebay and a host of internet suppliers.

cheers!
Scott

Thanks to everyone for all of the advice so far. Just found taillights (both sides) with the circuit boards fro $189. Very happy right now.
