Default First step in this forum

Hello All,

I'm living in Belgium, near Brussels. After years dreaming of a Jaguar Mk II (preferably 3,4l), I started looking seriously for one. My first criteria was to buy a car with a old paint, just to be sure there was no rust camouflaged. Also, no Crimson red and CWW!
After looking at different cars, I take a deep breath and buy this lovely original LHD Daimler, first registered on July 19 1963, in Belgium. Very sound condition, needing some TLC, repainted in British Green between 1976 and 1980 (original colour was Sherwood green). Interior is Suede Green, in very original condition. The car come with a rare factory metal-sliding sunroof. And a lot of documents confirming the total mileage at 58600 km.On the minus side, engine has been exchanged in 1970, so no matching number, but correct type.

The first jobs done where the replacement of creased rubber: brake hose pipes, tyres, windscreen and doors seals...This car is my first classic car. I've spend some time cleaning and polishing her inside out. Feeding the leather. Revarnishing the wooden top of the dashboard. The wooden parts have just been cleaned/polished my a ...brass polish : the varnish is now gleaming again!

I did a deal with my wife: I take care and she drive. Her smile said it all...Other rules: no rain, no motorway and...no dog (the interior is original and nicely patinated).
