I have a 93 XJ6 Vanden Plas purchased in the spring with 73,000 miles. All the bells and whistles worked. Really runs and drives good but starting to have problems. ex: Fuel pump went bad now get Fuel Fail 89 (Purge Control Valve); Next was PS pump leaking, removed (unable to remove pump) reassembled and now no more leaks; Noise from differential area and appears to squat in rear. But despite troubles, still love the car.
Ah the joys of Jaguar ownership. Good attitude treetrimmer!
On those DIY projects, you should post a log w/ pictures to help other XJ6 owners should they ever run across the same failures and need repairs.
welcome!

Hey treerimmer.............sounds like a great car. You'll always have a few probs with any car. Doesn't sound like you've had too many.
Enjoy the forums.
H20 made a good point about the repairs too.

Welcome treetrimmer. Glad to have another DIY type of guy(or gal) on the forum. Sounds like a solid car and at least the problems are just minute. I.e.-blown tranny or engine or $1000+ repair.
