First time Jaguar owner. Love my supercharged leaper!
Hello. I bought my first Jaguar a month ago. Maybe it was a midlife crisis. Maybe it was fate. In any case, I know I love this car. I have already found some very useful information on this forum as a stalker. I figured I should sign up and do things proper.
I live in Phoenix Arizona, and I bought a 2006 XJR with 69k miles. She is Platinum silver with Dove interior. I had a serious coolant leak issue just one day after buying her that sent me into a period of serious doubt about the wisdom of this purchase. I had owned BMW's in the past as well as a Chrysler crossfire (Mercedes Benz CLK essentially). The BMW's rarely incurred a repair, and I drove them both into the 130k mile range before trading them in. The Crossfire had 160k before I sold it. It on the other hand was a ridiculously expensive car. Every repair had a $1200 minimum entry fee, and there were many. It seemed like every part had to be handcrafted by Bavarian virgins and flown over on the wings of doves.
Any way, back to the new Jaguar. So waking up the next morning after purchase with all the coolant in a puddle in your drive way is not the way most people would want to start a new relationship with a car. The dealership repaired the coolant leak as well as several other issues I found at no cost to me, but it still it had me a little nervous.
I have to say after a month of ownership, I am starting to understand why people love their cats. The car just has a presence. Stopped. Moving. whatever. It just has a presence. I have never loved driving any other car this much. After a succession of small cars like the Crossfire, I wanted something Large and Beautiful, but something fast as well.
I found it!
Grace Space Pace!
Cheers!
